I have often thought about the topic covered by the recommended link today. Finally found someone who has written about it well. So why are atheists by far the most fervent commentators on matters religious? Why do some atheists actually encourage their supporters to 'blog like crazy against anything that smacks of religion'?
The author suggests that atheists have lately "come out of the closet". They want to proselytize all the rest of us to their way of thinking. It is not enough to simply let them be atheists, but we have to support them and agree with them. (Sounds like some other group I know.)
They use their traditional arguing points well while many theists don't even know the arguing points of the great apologists on their side, so they get intimidated. Robert Barron has some great insights into this whole area.
