Oh Please . . . Ever Wonder Why Some Are Being Spied On?

"Oh, p u l l e a s e!!!" Take a look at the article. Their letter to the NYC Mayor can also be read from the article itself (you really should take a look at that too and you read this, and the attached link). And here's my comment on the letter: "Oh, cry me a river."

There are good reasons why police departments keep a close eye on people. I know all Muslims are not terrorists. But the fact remains that almost all terrorists are Muslims. The police have no real choice but to use this approach.

As an immigrant from Europe living in Canada now for close to sixty years, I know that if Greeks were the ones who were being caught and found guilty of terrorist acts in Canada or the U.S., I would expect the police to keep a close eye on me. No questions asked.  And I'd continue to keep my nose clean.

Why? Because they care about protecting the community and the country as a whole -- and that my dear Muslim friends, who seem to be complaining so much, includes those of you who are being watched, but are innocent.

So please take a page out of the approach that some Muslims have and start going to events like the mayor's -- and stop whining. Think of what so many other faiths go through around the world in countries run by Islamic groups. Be thankful you're where you are and welcome to America.

You are not going to hear much about this development from the mainstream media. But it's happening and the next milestone date is November 17th -- I'm surprised the leasers got so long of a reprieve on this. But hey, they're Muslims.

Hunger Forecast -- from several sources.

The E.D. of the New York City Coalition Against Hunger says the situation is "miserable" with 1.4 million New Yorkers who cannot afford enough food. Food demand is going up, riots are increasing, prices are increasing, weather is causing lower supply levels, and we're only one serious drought away from a calamity. Read the material in the attached link for all the details.

But you know, we were warned. Revelations 18:8 says this about Babylon (symbolic of the ungodly world or nations today): "Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her."

Thank goodness, those of us that have faith in Christ have this other verse, Romans 8:35, which says, "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?"  No, nothing will separate us from CHRIST'S love for us.  He will see those that are His through it all. Maybe it's time we consider this real seriously. The signs are all here.

And as Christians, this is no excuse to do nothing. We are called to do all we can to help others in need -- including feeding their stomachs or more importantly helping them learn how to do it themselves through sustainable farming and other skills we can pass on.  What are you doing?

This is what they're telling us now. But they don't exactly have a perfect record for honesty or even getting it right. Take a look. If it's in New York State, can it be that far away from your neighborhood? Just saying. Maybe it's time to trust in a higher source of power and Truth.

Remember the New York Mosque Plan? -- Well, It's Still in the Courts, courtesy Pat Robertson et al.

A Reuters article explains clearly how the battle about building the Ground Zero Mosque is still in the courts and what the current issue is all about. The decision should come down in about four weeks. It's all about whether the building should be considered a monument of September 11th or not.

Personally, although I'm making no predictions on this one -- I don't think the way things have been going that Pat Robertson's side is going to win this one. But God may have other plans.
