Last Night Helps Us Understand Why We Don't Trust the Media . . .

Even when one of their own "network giants" broadcasts it live and so clearly that there was no doubt it happened and it was an out-and-out surprise and an affront on CNN and big media in general, the "post-fact" media -- CNN and all its "partners in crime" refused to admit it or even refer to it. Take a look. I've heard of political cover-ups, but this "media cover-up" takes the cake.

CNN Poll Results Overwhelming for "Merry Christmas"

Of course, the Networks aren't listening, and neither is Obama. What's wrong with these guys. Oh, I know -- they always for the minorities. How lovely. Wake-up Obama and smell the coffee. Start supporting the majority of people you are supposedly leading.

Americans still prefer ‘Merry Christmas’ over ‘Happy Holidays’ – CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

"Let him die" yelled the debate crowd in response to moderator's unfair question.

The leftists are at it again.  At the last GOP debate, Wolf Blitzer of CNN (those paragons of fairness -- both Blitzer and CNN) asked the candidates what would they do if a 30-year old who had refused to buy heatlh insurance if though his salary indicated he could afford it in spades came in needing life and death emergency treatment.  Admittedly, the candidates had a tough time answering the question.  They did so because you can't answer that question with a one-word answer, or even one sentence.  So, the audience helped out, "Let him die."   Blitzer beamed from big ear to big ear as he figured he had scored a coup for CNN, the Democrats, the liberals, the leftists, the socialists -- or collectively, the idiots, in my books.

Of course the answer in a first-world country is not "let him die".  It is much more complex than that.  I am neither a doctor nor a politician nor an economist, but if I were on a panel to adjudicate this one, I'd suggest that something closer to the right approach would along these lines (and I know many of you could improve on this):

1. Give him the necessary medical treatment to keep him alive immediately (as doctors are required to do regardless of ability to pay).
2. Then freeze all his assets, garnish his wages, have access to his bank accounts, etc.; that is, do everything you have to until and in order to recoup the costs of the service to the state, both during and after his treatment.
3. Give him one warning and then he's on his own for future emergencies -- if he has no insurance when he comes in again and the computer says "he's done this before" -- then you let him "rest in peace".   It is a crime against the state and mankind to deliberate make decisions that require someone else to pay the piper when you get sick.  (Remember we are not talking about those that cannot afford insurance -- we're talking about the guy that drives a Beamer but chooses not to buy insurance.)  This is not that much different than letting a homeless person die on the street be freezing to death because he refuses to go to a shelter in sub-zero weather.

Now, some of you may say to me, "Wow, as a Christian, you sound pretty extreme."  Maybe, but if you had a choice between using $500,000 worth of medical treatment on a rich guy or on people that couldn't afford insurance due to poverty -- and you were a Christian, which would you choose to help?

Furthermore, the Bible tells people to "count the cost before you go to build a tower".  Let me spell that out a little differently for you.  Life has responsibilities.  If God blesses you with money, you need to use it to take care of some of those responsibilities rather than using it as you please.  That's part of counting the cost when you live the life in the fast lane.

I believe in mistakes and I believe in forgiveness.  But I don't believe in "beating the system" and getting away with it.  Even God does not let us do that -- when we die, if we had no opted for Him, we're goners.   As far as I'm concerned it's a free world.  You're free to have insurance or not.  When you opt not to, you are also opting not to get treated.    It's no different than opting for divorce -- chances are you'll see your kids a lot less, if at all.

I just wanted you to have this other 'conservative' perspective before you read the opposite arguments from the article we've linked to.   And we do want your input after that.

CNN has come clean on B.O.'s Disapproval Ratings . . .

Here is the exact text of CNN's (CNN mind you) of their Breaking News:

President Obama's approval rating falls to 45%, driven in part by dissatisfaction from the left with Obama's track record, a new CNN/ORC International poll released today suggests.

The new poll shows that 38% disapprove of Obama because he h...as been too liberal, but 13% percent say he has not been liberal enough, nearly double those who felt that way in May. His approval rating among liberals is at 71%, an all-time low for his presidency. Overall, those who disapprove of Obama is at 54%, tying an all-time low hit just before November's midterm elections.

Poll respondents' negative opinions weren't reserved just for the president, though -- 55% of all Americans have an unfavorable view of the Republican Party, a 7-point increase since March. And only 37% feel the GOP's policies would move the country in the right direction, a 9-point drop since the start of the year.

Ever Wonder Why So Many Atheists Concerned About "Religious Issues"?

I have often thought about the topic covered by the recommended link today.  Finally found someone who has written about it well.   So why are atheists by far the most fervent commentators on matters religious?   Why do some atheists actually encourage their supporters to 'blog like crazy against anything that smacks of religion'?

The author suggests that atheists have lately "come out of the closet".   They want to proselytize all the rest of us to their way of thinking.  It is not enough to simply let them be atheists, but we have to support them and agree with them.  (Sounds like some other group I know.)

They use their traditional arguing points well while many theists don't even know the arguing points of the great apologists on their side, so they get intimidated.   Robert Barron has some great insights into this whole area.

When Dems. Get Worried They Call On Maher To Attack.

If this won't backfire against the Democrats, I don't know what will. This should get GOPers good and mad, even if he's doing it for the sake of comedy. Bring it on m........! I'll let you fill in the word and it's not 'maher'.

And just to think that CNN has this guy on their shows regularly to influence real people about real politics. But this is the U.S.

CNN Hosts Getting Some of Their Own Right Back. Well Done.

You can always tell when a CNN host or two gets frustrated -- they just terminate an interview. It happened again recently. Those of you who are fans of CNN just take a look at this one and try to watch the 'other' network once in a while.

CNN and Most Networks' PRIORITIES All Wrong.

You can't argue with the facts. This is hilarious. Great business thinking though. And of course, CNN and the like, are all about that. But gee whiz -- if the "media" are leading us, ever wonder why we're all so screwed up? I mean more people can likely tell you all about Charlie Sheen and name you the Best Movie, and the top four Actors this year who won Oscars than can name three terrible things that happened to Japan in the span of a couple of weeks. Thanks CNN et al -- you're doing a great job. NOT.

A CNN Commentator worth listening to . . ."U.S. Must Reject extremist Islam"

I'm very surprised to find this article on CNN Opinion page, but hey it's the truth -- although they are very careful to point out that the author is just a contributor and his opinions are strictly his own. Yet, nice of them to publish it. It's your job and mine to distribute this widely, so please link others to my blog if you think they would benefit from reading this.

But before you do, let me ask you this very serious question. If Native Americans in America did what Radical Islamists in America are allowed to do, would they be treated so much "hey, it's okay Jack" attitude (for lack of better words) as the Muslims radicals are being treated by the government, the legal system, or the press? I don't think so at all.

Thanks. And here you go with the details . . . .

CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood; Why is B.O. and CNN so supportive of the M.B.?

These guys are incredible -- M.B. says, "we don't use violence against anyone; we use resistance." Please, these people must think you and I are so naive. I'm convinced that this whole Egyptian scenario and how B.O. has reacted in support of M.B., should be enough to bury him politically anytime soon. Do you think protest-style campaigns to bring about change (maybe towards a form of democracy) can also be used to replace a Dem. democrat in a democratic society before his term ends?

Saturday Late Afternoon News -- Jan. 29, 2011, CNN's push, the army, B.O., beware of democracy

After watching CNN all day, I am of the belief that CNN is trying to influence the White House indirectly to break with Mubarak and fully support the protesters.  Nic Robertson and others may as well come clean and just tell B.O. that for all they're doing now.

The Army in Egypt is not stopping the looting, but "urging" protesters not to loot.  Now, that's effective.  BBC reports that army is now appealing to protesters to also respect the curfew.  Is it possible they're getting the word that soon they'll need to take action?

On Saturday (today) B.O. met with his national security team on the subject of Egypt -- proof he's watching it carefully.  They are likely making plans as to what they will be required to do once Mubarak steps down.

We need to be mindful of the fact that while the world may see the events in Egypt as a "pro-democracy" revolution, we need to be very careful to distinguish between different types of democracy.  Let us not fool ourselves, as one BBC commentator wisely pointed out -- these protesters have some very wild ideas including a very high proportion of them wanting some strong penalties for certain crimes -- including the cutting off of fingers and hands and arms.  We may get a democracy but it will be clearly on Islamic terms when it finally arrives.   Nothing short of that will satisfy the Muslim Brotherhood.

BBC reports that army is calling on Egyptian Patriots to help stop the looting and the rioting in an effort to protect their families and the country.  Interesting.

Meanwhile, Back in the U.S., B.O. can do no wrong as far as the media is concerned.

Life's not fair in the world of mainstream media. Take a look and just know that the man is human, in case you've bought the story that's he's not. Can't count on CNN and others these troubling days.

(by the way and unrelated: many worry about Egypt as it is the only Arab country that has a peace treaty with Egypt)

CNN's Cooper Gets Angry, But Should He?

Here's something you don't see too often. A journalist (for lack of a better word -- guys like Anderson Cooper in my opinion are simply well-paid 'commentators' who present the news they want to, and present it in the way they want to present it, and yes FoxNews has some as well) -- anyway, Cooper gets upset that the oil spill Commission Report said something erroneous about him and his show. He's lucky his employer will let him get his beef off his chest. Thousands of us don't have that privilege when we are misquoted or simply ignored.

But he must be crazy if he thinks that the majority of us believe, for one moment, that network producers of his type of show don't select their guests very carefully to present their point of view. How many times have so many of us been recorded or taped for a sound bite, only to find out that they take one phrase out of context, using only it to get their point across. And if we're not giving them sound bites that match their need, the hunt for the elusive utterings continues with others. Oftentimes, it's more of an audition than an interview. Come on, Anderson, we're not all that naive.

The nice thing about your video is that it shows you can cry wolf just like the rest of them.
