What Will A Young Saudi learn in school today? How about graphic lessons on cutting off hands and feet of thieves.

Last I checked, this was 2012 and yet this goes on. I'll let you read it all on your own -- but keep the young ones away. But as you read, pay attention to public relations garbage that goes along with it. Take a look at the last two paragraphs in particular. Of course, Obama and his administration walk away from all this as well -- preferring to call Islam a peaceful religion. Let's hope our children are more ready to fight for their lives than we are willing to fight for them so far.

Obama Fears Disrupting Relations with the Saudis, Compromises His Principles and Does Not Grant Asylum to Gay Saudi.

Amazing. What I am about to say is not to say is not to be taken as me being supportive of homosexual practices, so please don't bother going there. I am supportive and caring about those that are homosexuals. But this blog is not about that either. Here is what it is about and this is more scary.

The Obama administration is clearly prepared to compromise its own principles when it comes to providing asylum for all who deserve it under the legal defined criteria, and that includes gays, EXCEPT when that gay may be a Saudi. The Obama administration says "no" because that would not go over well with the Saudi state and their relations with the US. I mean if this isn't a case of "oil over principles" for one's own personal benefit (think re-election 2012), I don't know what it. Take a look. But more importantly, consider this man in the White House who would indeed likely sell his own grandmother if it meant getting what he wants for his own reasons and gains. Let me ask you this: Why on earth would anyone want this man for their President?

Slavery Days? Hitler Days? No. America Today.

As I read this article and especially the letter from the legal counsel to the New York Port Authority, I could not help but feel that I was reading something out of the days of Uncle Tom's Cabin or when the Nazis were aggressively moving across Europe.  It was scary.  And it's going on right now in America.

Apparently some Jews have restrictions put on what they do or take with them when boarding certain airplanes headed for Saudi Arabia from JFK International Airport in New York.  And why?  Well, because Saudi Arabia has put limitations on what Jews they'll allow into the country.  Islamic limitations if you like.

The issue is not whether or not Saudi Arabia has the right to do that.  Let's say they do, although we'll save our arguments for another time.  The issue is whether or not American taxpayer dollars spent at a publicly owned airport is being used to "facilitate" these restrictions in the United States.

Reading this made me think of the movies Sophie's Choice and The Hiding Box about Corrie Ten Boom.  God help us all.

Clarification on the Delta Airlines Discrimination Story

This is an interesting account. The story is more complex than either side is willing to make it. The bottom line is this. Saudi Arabia will not accept passengers with an Israeli passport because it does not recognize Israel as a legitimate state that can issue passports. (Remember, there's a middle east "ideological" war going on now for decades; no, make that centuries.)

The problem arises when your relative from Tel Aviv visits you in New York on his/her passport and the two of you want to fly to Saudi Arabia. Your relative can't join you because no airline can put a person on board to a destination where that individual does not have acceptable documentation at that destination.

So when an airline carries that internationally imposed flying requirement out, are they being "discriminatory"? Yes, but it does not matter because the issue is not with the airline, it's really an issue of the receiving country's discrimination.

However, the airline does not get off scot-free either. Not if they've joined an alliance where one member of the group (in this case one or more airlines) actually fly to Saudi Arabia -- a country that is discriminatory; or includes a Saudi Arabian airline itself. The airlines have an option not to fly there (of course, it's about the economy silly) or not join the alliance.

Check it out for yourself. The real story is that this is even going on in the world. Maybe we should stop accepting anyone with a Saudi passport? Just thinking.

Yesterday It Wasn't Sin; Today It Is; What Will Be Sin Tomorrow?

One of the amazing things about certain religions is that they can be 'developed' as we go along. For example, it appears that Islamic uprisings and protests in certain countries were not seen as sin. But in Saudi Arabia, where the ruling powers have this unique deal with the religious leaders -- all of a sudden the religious leaders can issue a fatwa that calls protesting sin in essence. What a convenient religion. I am sure that the Creator was consulted before this decision was made after all it is His religion we all claim to follow. And I guess that's a new aspect about Him as well -- He can now change His mind as necessary to ensure certain political outcomes. I like that. But I'm not sure how valid the whole thing is. Musings . . . on a Thursday Evening: Love, Hatred Education, Research Ethics, Corruption,

1. Lessons of Hate in Islamic Schools in Britain.  Here is a most interesting account of what is being taught in some schools in the U.K. as shown by the BBC and reported by the New York Times.  Take a look at: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/23/world/europe/23britain.html?_r=2&hp  .  Notice the response or lack thereof from the Saudi Arabian embassy.  Notice the position of Britain's ministry of education.  And notice how they're always saying, "everything is out of context".   Well, when you have some much overlap in what's 'out of context' all the time, maybe that becomes the context.

2. Please participate in our Study: We inject you with Syphilis.  Last year we learned that there was a study done 65 years ago that wasn't ethical.  Now, the U.S. Ethics Committee is probing that study in which subjects were dosed with Syphilis.  The question is "can this happen again?"  Some bioethicists think it can.  Take a look here: http://www.globalethics.org/newsline/2011/03/07/ethics-syphilis/ .

3. 4. "In the end, it is love . . . "  I John 4:16 in the Bible says, "We have known and believed the love that God has for us."  I find this verse most interesting.  When you 'know' something, you can 'believe' it.  An that is how it is with God's love.  Charles F. Stanley writes on this verse:  "In the end, it is love -- and especially the infinite, unconditional, forgiving love of God our heavenly Father -- that creates in us a feeling of value and worth.  If Jesus, God's Son, went to the cross or us, surely we are worthy. . . . If God created us, redeemed us, and desires to call us His children forever, surely we are of great importance to Him.  The answer to feelings of unworthiness is love. . . . A love that is based not upon what a person does, but upon who a person is -- a beloved child of almighty God."   When you find a person who loves you for who you are (not what you do, especially for them), you have found some serious love.  Those that have found God, have found the ultimate in "love".
