Two Poems From the Heart . . . For A Change of Pace from Epistoli

Recently, I received two very short poems from my mother-in-law, with this note . . .

"Ken here are a couple of poems I came across on Monday when . . .  organizing my closet.  I thought they might be of interest to you."

I read them carefully several times and decided to share them with you because sometimes we just need to stop and think a little about our human friends as well as our spiritual Friend, God.  Take a look and pay attention to the words -- they just may help point you towards a better relationship with another person and/or with God!

To A Friend  by Doreen Scott, Thornhill, Ontario

The memory of your visit is still fresh and warm and clear.

We met, then  parted, richer with more love, more hope, more cheer.

For soul met soul for an instant.  For an instant time stood still.

And a friend was made as eternal love spoke from heart to heart to fulfill.

God’s  Love by Doreen Scott, Thornhill, Ontario

His love is strong, it cannot be defiled

No matter how it’s spurned, cast off, reviled.

It overcomes all hate and greed and pain

And only waits our confidence to gain.

His love is stern and cannot be denied

When He commands we dare not show our pride

Or run away or even try to hide

But in submission find our needs supplied.
