This story is another interesting one when viewed and analyzed from a worldview that may be different than most. What I am about to say regarding it is not intended to be exhaustive by any means. I just want to point out a few things in this story before you read all the details for yourself. Here are some things to consider:
1. The U.S. sets up a phony website to lure pedophiles. The luring supposedly draws people to Ontario, Canada -- my province. Before the site gets 'busted' by the bleeding heart organization, "The Smoking Gun" (owned by the Turner empire I believe, a real stalwart of conservatism -- not; he brings you CNN), the U.S. has enough evidence to convict four men, one already sentenced to 20 years and three to be sentenced later this month.
2. People are complaining that this portrays Ontario as a "haven for child-sex tourism". What matters is not what Ontario is portrayed as, but what it is. If it's not, then why all the fuss especially since the site got 140,000 hits in 19 months and landed four perverts to be charged and more.
3. Of course, there's the issue of how the site may "lure" innocent folks into "child-sex" by "mistake". If you got lured into "child-sex" on this, the authorities say this was not by accident. You had to intentionally want to meet children in this way really badly. (See the details in the article.)
4. The there's the issue of telling "lies". Welcome to "undercover police work". Without it, many of us would be a lot worse off than we are in our cities. Thank God for it. Don't cry, "not fair". There is not much fairness necessary for a convicted child-sex offender, whether he/she was successful or just "in the process of pursuit".
5. And then we have the 'moral' issue. Should a country like the U.S. be involved in catching its sordid criminals in this manner? Should a country like Canada being used in this way take it sitting down? Sorry, but what moral issue do you see? I see none. Except perhaps, the questioning of the morality of the bleeding heart liberals and others who would come to the aid of these degenerates, the legal systems that will desperately try to defend them, and maybe Canada, if it as a nation formally objects. It would be immoral not to use every means possible to zero in any such human deviancy. Let's stop playing games with the lives of children. But you judge for yourself.
