If I At All Thought They Cared, I'd Say U.S. Was Trying to Confuse Us on Middle East

If I thought they really cared what us little people thought or if I thought they were smart enough to know how to, I'd have for sure said that the B.O. administration is intentionally trying to confuse us on the matter of Israel and the Palestinian Authority.  Alas, it is not that simple, because it appears the B.O. administration is -- I mean, is just that simple.    And you can try to rationalize it all you like.

First, on Friday the United States vetoes a United Nations Security Resolution put forth by the Palestinian Authority (via Lebanon) to condemn certain Israeli settlements as "illegitimate" and to demand the immediate cessation of any such further construction.   They did this in spite of the U.S. warning them against it.  So, the resolution that had all fourteen other members including our dear friends Germany (did you ever think they really would vote otherwise?), France (they always do their own thing these days) and Britain (yes, Britain), failed due to the single U.S. veto.  Apparently, it was B.O.'s first use of the veto at the U.N. Security Council. (Great job B.O. -- now you've tried it out.)  Interestingly enough, the U.S. had warned the P.A. there would be trouble at the Security Council if they put forward such a motion and there was -- the U.S. nixed it.  And for a change they were true to their word.  That was Friday.

After that vote, little Miss Muffett, alias Hilary Clinton, wanted to see her face all over the news again, so she obliged Christiane Amanpour (formerly of CNN fame) and went on her new ABC show, which aired this Sunday morning.  And what does she say?  She tells the world that the U.S. Official policy is that indeed the very settlements that the P.A. wanted condemned on Friday as being illegal, are indeed -- wait for it -- "illegal".     Here's what she said: "I think it is absolutely clear to say, number one, that it's been American policy for many years that settlements were illegitimate and it is the continuing goal and highest priority of the Obama administration to keep working toward a two-state solution with both Israelis and Palestinians," Clinton told interviewer Christiane Amanpour. [As an aside, in my opinion, a two-state solution using only one state's land to make up the other state is not possible and if it were, will not work. Best to go back to the drawing boards.]  The interview was taped on Friday, after the US vetoed a UN Security Council resolution condemning settlements.

Yes, yes, I know that the two positions are not mutually exclusive.  Clinton may be right in what she said and the U.S. vetoed the resolution calling them illegal because of other implications.  I get all that.  But the fact remains we're being served "double-speak" for the most part.  Not just by the U.S., but I have come to realize, by most politicians these days no matter what color their suit or where they hail from.  It's a sign of the times.

First they don't know what they're doing or saying, as a group -- because they have real solutions to the dilemma the world is in and second because they figure they're so elite, it really doesn't matter whether what they say or whether they contradict themselves or each other, because after all what will we plebians really do?  I mean what can we really do?   (I might remind them of Egypt and a few other locales lately.)

So, then, who is in charge in the U.S.?  Is it Obama or is it Clinton?   We're doomed in either case.  At the end of my ranting, you'll find a link to Clinton's comments and then one to the veto at the U.N.  Enjoy them.

But just before you go there, I want to share two other interesting bids of information for those of you that are watching the U.S. scene closely.

The first is that someone I normally do not quote is indeed being quoted here because for all the wrong reasons many will listen to him in the U.S.  He has an incredible following.  A great case of the spiritually errant leading the spiritually lost perhaps.  But that aside, I wanted you to be aware of what's happening to B.O.'s populatiry among the "masses".   Anyway, all that to say that Deepak Chopra has gone public in saying that the B.O. should only stay in the White House one-term.   Here's the link on that:  Deepak Chopra and Obama .  Well, you didn't expect him to be 100% wrong all the time did you?

And here's the second bid of information.  Do you remember George Soros -- a very very big supporter of the B.O.'s ways?  Well, take a look at this:

George Soros: ‘President Obama Has Lost Control’
In a pre-recorded interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria set to air Sunday morning, investment billionaire George Soros accuses President Barack Obama of having “lost control” of the national economy and criticizes the Democratic president for allowing Republicans to set the national agenda.
Furthermore, Soros goes on to predict that Obama‘s policy shortcomings will have a negative impact on the nation’s economic recovery and accuses the GOP of mixing economic and ideological priorities at the expense of the American worker.

But ideally one should watch the entire interview (if you can stand the politics of Fareed Zakaria).  For example, this is one case where the Dem president loses "control" of the agenda and now the GOP will get blamed for everything.

But all this to show that the golden boy's hair is getting very white and his aura is wearing very thin.  Don't forget to pass our findings on to your contacts by forwarding or sharing this blog.  And we're always welcome to your comments below.

Okay, back to the original thoughts.nNow, here's the scoop on Clinton's comments (if you're still interested and have the inclination);

Clinton: US policy is that settlements are illegitimate

And here's the scoop on the U.S. veto of the Palestinian resolution (submitted via Lebanon) to condemn Israeli settlements as illegal.
