Late Night Musings -- January 15, 2010

A friend just sent me these thoughts (original author not known by me anyway):  "'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.  When God takes something from your grasp,  He's  NOT punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.  Concentrate on the fact that 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'"

And here's another most interesting thought involving Great Advice About Friends: "There comes a point in your life when you realize Who matters, who never did, who won't anymore...And Who always will.  So, don't worry about people from your past; there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future."  Great advice indeed.

Finally, I'm ticked. Royally ticked, again,  This time, again, at Office Depot.  First they tell me that if I buy two toners I should get the 10% off both, or whatever.   You know, like going into a shoe store and they tell you buy a pair pay 100%, buy two pairs, get 10% off each.  So you buy a black pair of the shoes you like and you buy a blue pair.  Good and fair deal.  No problems.  But not at Office Depot.  I bought one particular HP toner package -- yellow.  Saw the deal, and went to buy another one -- blue this time.  In fact, I also bought black, and red.  Total costs over $500.   Thought I should get something off -- after all they were for the same printer -- an HP Laserjet 2840.   "Oh no, " said the manager -- they all have to be the same COLOR.  What?  How many small businesses that walk in off the street buy four BLUE toner cartridges or MAGENTA or four YELLOW or four BLACKS.  What an insane policy.  There must be a better store.
