Jews". Second, have you listened to the most Islamic nation in the world lately --- they openly say they want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. So, I will leave it at that. The Quran is very confusing on this. But generally, it tells Muslims to be very sure not to befriend them. And of course, Iran's behavior and statements of anti-semitism are more of a thread. It’s more like a 1’ rise. Most of that is due to human activities, but a small portion of that is due to the cycle of glacial minima/maxima. There is a cost to reducing emissions, and completely eliminating carbon emissions, which is not practical anyway, would not stop climate change completely. I suspect there is some sweet spot of paying some cost now while maintaining long-term growth that makes the costs of mitigating it in the future less onerous. Any answer is an estimate because we don’t know the future costs of global warming, how effective making changes now will be, or what the long-term growth rate is.

I’m really against the tu quoque of condemning one another’s emissions. Most goods and services of an affluent life have some cost to the environment, and asking people to abstain from an affluent life is a solution as bad as the problem.CJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05824987036580158137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12379286.post-17716183403297494032023-05-10T13:43:18.181-04:002023-05-10T13:43:18.181-04:00Hi there and thanks for taking the time to comment...Hi there and thanks for taking the time to comment. In answer to your question, I would say that they could definitely cut back a bit and try to conserve but there is no need to give all jet travel, etc., up. I believe that climate change as they have defined it is not a real threat. Otherwise, if it were true -- let's the water level rose by 10 feet, 1/2 of the United States and all of Europe would be wiped out. Not happening. Also, if it were happening, why are banks still giving out 30 and 40 year mortgage loans? Not happening. Dare I say Al Gore came up with a great hoax first and is making a fortune with it.
I reread the post. I don't think I was saying that conservatives and Christians are exempt from any blame. It's not simplistic, I agree. But I also believe the post was about hypocrisy and the left and the woke are the masters of that. And thank you ...HI there: Thanks for writing to us. And thank you for asking that question. The best answer is the very simplistic one -- it didn't come about until after Joshua had conquered the land whereas these blessings were by Moses before that.
As described by Wikipedia:
"According to the biblical chronicle, the Tribe of Manasseh was a part of a loose confederation of Israelite tribes from after the conquest of the land by Joshua until the formation of the first Kingdom of Israel in c. 1050 BC. No central government existed, and in times of crisis the people were led by ad hoc leaders known as Judges (see Book of Judges). With the growth of the threat from Philistine incursions, the Israelite tribes decided to form a strong centralised monarchy to meet the challenge, and the Tribe of Manasseh joined the new kingdom with Saul as the first king.
If you enquire elsewhere and get a richer answer, please let us know. After all Jesus didn’t get involved in it or so the thinking went. Then when things started to happen that were foreign to our way of thinking, we did some pearl clutching and wondered what we should do. First it was teaching evolution in the schools followed by opening stores on Sunday. Then it was allowing the sale of liquor on the Lord’s Day. Next they discontinued the practice of reciting the Lord’s prayer in the morning and the end of the religious education class that used to happen once a week. Next they outlawed the giving of New Testaments to grade 5 students by the Gideons. Still we did nothing other than writing a letter of protest to the school board. We saw these as individual events rather than a pattern of war against the Judeo-Christian practices of the day and a concerted effort to push Christianity out of the culture. Naturally the pace picked up as time went on and the forces on the other side were emboldened by our inactivity and lack of pushback. Long story short, we now find ourselves surrounded by the enemy, ill prepared to do battle because of our ignorance of scripture and our inability to access the power if the Holy Spirit which is ours as born again believers. We need to approach life differently starting at home, recognizing what the Lord commanded us to do and the power He gave us to carry out His orders and engage with the culture whether it be abortion, same sex marriage or whatever and preach the good news with great strengthBob Nixonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17889972377754341651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12379286.post-42665284334697745552022-08-09T19:12:16.417-04:002022-08-09T19:12:16.417-04:00Hi there Anonymous. Asahel obviously didn't seek God's guidance on this as his uncle David usually did and the results were fatal. As we will find out later, vengeance begats vengeance and the violence that the seer warned David about after having Uriah killed to hide his sin with Bathsheba continues to unfold in David's household. We can never short circuit circumstances even though we find forgiveness due to God's grace.Bob Nixonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17889972377754341651noreply@blogger.com
