What a story to deny. On protecting Copts in Egypt. Shame.

We'll assume two things: One, it's possible Clinton and Obama are not on the same page. Two, it's possible the 'press' got it wrong.

But we'll avow one thing: Either way, it's a shame. This is not the kind of story or issue the U.S. should be denying. It should take action if it really believes in fundamental religious freedom. It should do so, to give the message to the world, that not only do you not mess with Texas, you don't mess with peoples freedom to exist and worship when they are not hurting you.

But then of course, we're talking about standing up to the Muslim Brotherhood and possible Islamic radicals and terrorists and extremists. Either Mr. Obama is afraid to, or is worried about the political cost he may suffer (of course re-election is the highest of goals and let Christians go hang), or another option is that he won't help because this so very nicely fits in with his long-term unstated goals for America and the world. (If the latter is not true, he is doing nothing to show it.)

Here's the story for your own examination.
