Electric Cars Not for the Ordinary Man, or Woman

I must admit that when I saw that GM's Volt will soon be available in my area, I wanted to make sure that I got out there and took a good look. After all, I believe in economy and environment. I mean I do drive a Smart and diesel at that.

But then I came across the article below and I figured out -- there's not economy (on my part) and the electric car may not be as green as everyone thinks. Take a look, and if you still want to pay a premium of $20,000 to drive one -- be my guest. Maybe I can borrow it one time -- for a good cause.
