Honesty is Looking for a Kingdom

As a Greek, I am familiar with the story of Diogenes the Cynic, who went around the sunlit streets of Athens, lantern in hand, looking for an honest man. I think these days he would have to fly around the world looking for an honest kingdom. He may well come up empty-handed.

This is a sad story about some research that the U.S. did some years back using people from Guatemala and infecting them with syphillis. Sadder still is that the current U.S. administration did not response to an attempt to settle the claims of the victims out of court. And now they have filed a suit against the U.S. This will be most interesting and I am sure will cost a pretty penny to settle ultimately.
