What Counts is How Many Jobs Were Added

The unemployment rate did go down to 9.4% from a high of 9.8% but let's not be fooled. Good economists and statisticians would tell you that the figure is very misleading -- it's only a percentage of a moving target. Of course, if so many people who have been unemployed for a long time have given up and have dropped out of the "looking for a job" category, it's easy to improve the numbers.

What should be noted is that most economists were counting on and preferred if the U.S. had added about 160,000 to 180,000 or more jobs rather than the mere 113,000 they got.

Sorry folks, but Little Red Riding Hood is not out of the woods yet.
