Turkey Claims It Will Stay Secular & Democratic

Turkey is claiming it will stay secular and democratic. The question is can it be trusted? Journalists don't seem to think so. And besides, what else can turkey say as it strives hard to qualify for EU membership?  Journalists point to some new laws that seem to be curtailing freedom, but I believe the journalists are barking up the wrong tree, at least for now.  They'll need more evidence than that.  But you be the judge.
