Please Understand You Can't Go form Reverse to Overdrive

I've discovered what's wrong with the leadership of the United States. The person at the helm has trouble understanding the principles of engines and gearshifts. Contrary to your rhetoric about your growing economy delivered today at a GE plant in New York, please hear this:

When something is in Reverse, one normally has to get to Neutral, and from there you go Drive, and only later, much later, do you go into Overdrive. Just thinking -- maybe the economy is not still in reverse (that's debatable if you ask all the unemployed) but assuming it's in neutral, it still has a long way to go for Overdrive -- and no, your two next years in office won't likely get it there. But hey, give it a go.

Question for overdrive: when will politicians realize that rhetoric is not just about "aiming crosshairs" at opponents; it is also about talking nonsense; it is about speaking like a campaigner when you need to be speaking the truth.
