Difference in Parenting Styles: Man's and God's

One main difference between human parenting and parenting as God does it, is simply this:  A human father or mother knows that for their child to succeed in life, he/she must be developed and trained to become independent of his/her father and mother.   God, on the other hand, as our Spritual Parent knows that for one of His children to succeed in the Christian Life, he/she must be encouraged and disciplined to become more and more dependent on his/her Spiritual Father.  Therein also lies the difference between human maturity and spiritual maturity.  -- based on the thinking of Hans Peter Royer.
